NAVE, GERTRUDE SAGESER
Mrs. Gertrude SAGESER NAVE, wife of James NAVE, died at St. Joseph Hospital, Lexington, Wednesday morning, Aug. 5, (1908) from the result of an operation. Mrs. Nave was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert SAGESER of Nicholasville, The deceased had been in ill health for some time and was a patient sufferer. She was a devoted member of the Christian church and a lovable Christian woman. She is survived by her husband and infant daughter, also her father and mother, one sister, Mrs. Strother MOORE, and brother, Howard Sageser. Funeral services were held at the residence of her parents on Brown street Thursday afternoon at 8 o’clock, conducted by Elder H. L. CALHOUN. Interment at Maple Grove Cemetery.
NEAL, MARY L.
Mrs. Mary L. Neal died at the residence of her brother-in-law, Mr. Geo. W. Goode, Sunday morning, June 19, 1898, death being the result of infirmaties. Mrs. Neal was born in Woodford County, June 1, 1810, and was 88 years old. She was the daughter of Thomas and Mary Lyne. In 1854, the deceased was married to Elijah Neal, of Jessamine and has since resided in this county, dying at the homestead where she had first commenced housekeeping and where she had resided since her marriage. Mrs. Neal leaves two sisters, Mrs. Geo. W. Goode, of Jessamine and Mrs. Addison Gaines, of Boone County. The deceased was a Christian of a very high character and was greatly beloved by her neighbors. She had been a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist church for years. The funeral took place Monday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the residence of Mr. Goode, the services being conducted by Rev. G. W. Argabrite. Interment at Keene.
NEWMAN, EDWARD
Edward Newman, one of the Jessamine county’s most respected citizens, died Friday night at his home in that county. He was 84 years of age and grandfather of County Surveyor W. A. Newman of this city.

NEWMAN, MARY ETTA
Miss Mary Etta Newman, aged 17 years, died at the home of her father, Mr. J. W. Newman, near Muir, Fayette County, Sunday, July 1, 1894, of consumption. The deceased was the granddaughter of Mr. Edmund Newman of Spears and Mr. Reuben Arnold, of this place. She was also a sister of Mr. W. A. Newman, Democratic nominee for Surveyor of Fayette County, and Miss Birdie Newman, who taught school in Jessamine for several years.
NOWLIN, ANNIE WOOD
Annie Wood, the 18-months old daughter of Rev. and Mrs. W. D. Nowlin, died at the Good Samaritan Hospital, Lexington, Thursday, July 31, 1902. The remains were buried in the Lexington cemetery on the following day.
